About the Art
My art is an expression of spontaneity and joy -- a reflection of my interest in nature and ecology -- drawing on patterns and motifs found in plants, flowers, rocks and gems. I rarely pick up a brush, and prefer to pour, splatter, press and drip paint onto the canvas.
Sustainability is an important part of my artistic practice. Each one-of-a-kind painting is created using repurposed leftover house paint that would otherwise go to waste, and my leaf prints are made using fallen leaves collected on neighborhood walks. The leaves are pressed and steamed against paper and fabric, creating a contact print made from the colors in the plants themselves.
My art is more amazing when seen in person. Those who experience it can feel the love and joy that went into the making of it.
