My art is an expression of spontaneity and joy. I work intuitively and let ideas come to me through meditation and dreams. I rarely pick up a brush, and prefer to pour, splatter, press and drip paint onto the canvas.
I embrace abstract imagery and a diverse color palette as a way to explore emotion, and leave it to the viewer to imagine content. The paintings change with the light throughout the day, so that you always see something different in them.
The eco-friendly materials that I use are an important component of my work. My paintings are created using repurposed house paint that I rescue from recycling centers and that would otherwise go to waste, and my leaf prints are made using fallen leaves collected on neighborhood walks. The leaves are pressed and steamed against paper and fabric. No inks, dyes or paints are used -- just the colors from the plants themselves.
My art is a vehicle for my desire to heal the world and make it a better place for all living beings. I aim to create in a clear state of consciousness and transfer that positive energy into my work. My hope is that those who experience my art can feel the love and joy that went into it.
