"Crossfire," original painting, 48" x 36"
This bold piece was created using rebar rust marks on natural cotton canvas. Rebar is a steel building material used to reinforce concrete that rusts easily, leaving interesting marks.
My work is an expression of spontaneity and joy -- a reflection of my interest in nature and ecology -- drawing on patterns and motifs found in plants, flowers, water, sky, rocks and gems.
Sustainability is an important part of my artistic practice, and each one-of-a-kind piece is created using repurposed, upcycled and natural materials.
These pieces are more magnificent when seen in person -- photographs don’t convey the texture and depth of the work. Those who experience my art can feel the passion and devotion that went into the making of it.
